Out of the Woods:

The Western Influence

Presenter: Mary Woods

Regionality influences quilting in many ways, especially the choice of color and design. April speaker, Mary Woods, visits our Island from the beautiful Bitterroot Valley of Montana. Her program, Out of the Woods: The Western Influence will feature a trunk showing of her quilts that utilize colors, fabrics and themes popular in the Northwest.

Mary will share what led her to quilting and how her 21 moves with 5 children in tow influenced the progression of quilts she will show. Be ready for a bit of humor tossed into the presentation.

A quilter for over 15 years, Mary has been active in guilds, serving as president. She takes advantage of attending shows wherever she lives, including the Houston Quilt Festival. She also attends lots of classes to stretch her skill set. Mary is the sister of AIQ Membership Chair, Andrea Golding.
